92 - Train circling left and right

92 - Train circling left and right

This is another easy exercise to teach your dog and will help him to be more flexible

    1. Using your right hand, hold a treat just in front of your dog's nose and slowly lure him around to the right. As he starts to move his feet, click and treat. Repeat a few times.

    2. Take this a step further by luring his nose around past his tail so that his front and hind limbs start to step round in a circle. Click here but reward as he inishes the circle.

    3. Repeat again, clicking just after the halfway point and rewarding at the end of the circle. Practice until the movement becomes smooth and you no longer need to lure with a treat and he is happily targeting your hand all the way around.

    4. Introduce a verbal cue such as 'right twist' or 'right spin'. Use different cues for each direction. Follow the same steps to teach him to circle left using your left hand.
