83 - Play find the child

83 - Play find the child

Children enjoy being invited to join in with training games and they LOVE this one. To start with have a second adult helper standing near the child to give direction and help

Hold your dog on a leash and allow him to watch the child disappear with his toy. When the child has hidden, encourage your dog to go and search for his toy, which is, of course, with the child. As your dog appears in sight, the second adult can prompt the child to throw the toy on the ground just to their side. If both dog and child are conident, you can then do this exercise off-leash.

Maisy hides and gets ready to throw Oz’s toy as he finds her. When Oz is working off - leash, MaisTeach creeping or crawlingws the toy to the side as he comes around the corner to find her.
