    Russo-European Laika |Russia|

    Russo-European Laika |Russia|

The Russo-European Laika developed in the heavily forested and icy regions of northern Europe and Russia, roughly between the Ural Mountains and Finland, and is one of several Spitz-type Russian hunting dogs (Laikas). These dogs are used on large and small game and have great endurance. They are also lively and excitable and need a lot of exercise and activity to thrive. Laikas are affectionate and good with children, and they make good family dogs for an experienced home. They are capable watch dogs, but are prone to barking, can be aggressive to other dogs, and are wary of strangers.
