    Norfolk Terrier |England|

The Norfolk Terrier is one of the smallest working Terrier breeds, but its lack of height is more than compensated for in sheer gameness of spirit. These small terriers are fearless and determined hunters, matching their dedication with a superb temperament that is cheerful, tough, and charismatic. They were developed in Norfolk, England by Frank “Roughrider” Jones. His tenacious terriers were recognized by the English Kennel Club in 1932 and called Norwich Terriers. In 1964 the English Kennel Club separated the terriers into two breeds: the Norwich with its pricked ears, and the Norfolk, whose ears drop forward at the tip. Both breeds have different standards and exhibit their own characteristics.
