    Lancashire Heeler |England|

    Lancashire Heeler |England|

The origins of this small, charismatic breed are not known, but it may have developed through Welsh Corgi and Manchester Terrier crosses, possibly when Corgis were being used to drive cattle to markets from Wales into northwest England. Some historians, however, insist that the Lancashire Heeler is the older breed and that it gave rise to the Corgi! Either way, the breed was valued for driving cattle and other livestock. These are bright, cheerful dogs that enjoy family life, keep homes free of vermin, and sound a vigorous alarm in response to intruders.
