    Kuvasz |Hungry|

These noble-looking dogs were historically associated with the aristocracy in Hungary; the fifteenth-century king Mathias I reputedly always had at least one Kuvasz with him at all times. The origin of their name is believed to be Turkish, roughly translating as “armed guard of the nobility.” The breed’s guarding skills became legendary, and they eventually began to be used by farmers for protecting their livestock and farms. Kuvasz are spirited, devoted, and protective dogs that can make good companions for the right home. However, they require lots of space and consistent obedience training and socialization.
