Kromfohrlander |Germany|

The Kromfohrlander traces to a stray farmdog named Peter—likely a Grand Griffon Vendéen and Wire Fox Terrier cross—who was adopted by American servicemen in the 1940s in northern France. He ended up in Germany where dog breeder Ilsa Shleifenbaum bred him to a Fox Terrier that produced puppies exactly like Peter. This formed the base for the new breed, which is still rare. The Kromfohrlander was developed as a companion breed and is good-natured, affectionate, and playful.
