    Jagdterrier |Germany|

The Jagdterrier was developed in Germany around 1900 specifically as a hunting dog. Breeders crossed English Fox Terriers with Black and Tan Hunting Terriers and spent many years selectively breeding for hunting skills. These fearless dogs were used on wild boar, badger, fox, weasel, raccoon, and squirrel. They are devoted, loyal, protective, and intolerant of strangers, so they make excellent watch and guard dogs. They have a high exercise requirement and are best suited to a hunting home where they can do what they have been bred to do.
