Canadian Eskimo Dog |France|

Canadian Eskimo Dog |France|

This French-bred dog with its excellent sense of smell was developed during the nineteenth century in the Ariège area of the Pyrenees Mountains primarily as a pointing dog, although they are also useful retrievers. They are active, powerful animals rarely seen outside their homeland, and are typically used for hunting partridge and hare. They are relatively sociable and thrive when working, but are not generally used solely as companion dogs.
