American Mastiff |United States|

American Mastiff |United States|

Although the Mastiff is an ancient breed, the American Mastiff is a relatively recent addition that is now recognized by the Continental Kennel Club. The breed owes its origins to Fredericka Wagner of Flying W Farms in Piketon, Ohio, who used English Mastiffs and Anatolian Mastiffs as the new breed’s foundation. Her goal was to create a Mastiff breed of sound health and temperament that produced less slobber than other Mastiff breeds. The American Mastiff is a quiet and dignified breed with a calm, affectionate temperament and protective instincts. These dogs make good companions for people who can provide them with enough space.
