This little cutie is my
Benjamin. He is a beagle/shepard
mix and is now 3 years old.
I rescued him when he was 8
weeks old. I had him only a
few days when he all the
sudden started vomiting over
and over. I called the
rescue I had adopted him
from and even though it was
a Sunday, we rushed him into
the vet. The vet made a
special trip for us. When we
arrived, I didn’t want to
let him go but they took him
from me. They ran a test
and we waited for the
results. It seemed like
forever before we got the
results. In that time I
found out that 2 of his
litter mates, his 2 sisters,
were in that very hospital
with Parvo. I was terrified
for him. Then we got the
results….Positive. I was
holding him and before I
knew it, they took him from
me and brought him in the
back room. The next few days
were very tough for him.
One of his sisters had
passed the next day. A
couple days later, the other
one passed. I called
everyday, several times a
day, to check up on him.
Each day he was doing a
little better, and after 5
long days I got to bring him
home. He was a little
fighter.
He is now 3 years old, and
we just had him in the
hospital for 2 days. He had
a problem with his digestive
track and they thought they
were going to have to do
surgery. I told him that he
needed to fight, just like
he did when he was a pup. I
hated to leave him there,
but I had no choice. If he
wasn’t better the next
morning they were going to
have to do surgery. So I
told him to fight, and that
I loved him and I would see
him soon. The next morning
I called the vet, and found
out he did great over
night! No surgery! Once
again, he was a little
fighter. He is an awesome
dog and my special little
boy. Thanks for reading our
story!
