Make brushing part of
the puppy's daily routine from the start. The puppy's
coat should be worked very gently with a brush or comb,
with the bristles or teeth pointed away from the skin.
Even one or two five-minute grooming sessions a day will
get the puppy used to the idea of being brushed or
combed. This will come in very handy later in life when
the pet must be groomed as an adult dog. Remember that
the puppy years are the best time to instill good habits
in a pet.
