Like all muscles, the
jaw muscles that a dog uses to chew become more powerful
with usage. So, as your dog continues to chew on the
toys she's given, the more her chewing power will
increase. Pet dogs tend to become stronger chewers
during their early adult years because of all the
exercise their jaw muscles get working over their toys.
It isn't surprising then that a toy that stood up to a
dog's chewing when she was 18 months old won't last her
as long when she celebrates her third birthday. Move the
dog up to a stronger, more durable chew toy that will
last her pet longer.
