You can try this simple
test; take a flea comb and run it through the area
around the dog’s rump and tail. Then, shake the contents
of the comb on to a white paper towel. You should then
moisten the towel slightly, if small brownish to black
dots appear. If these dots turn reddish brown, they are
probably flea droppings, meaning that the parasites have
infested the pet. At this point, you should immediately
begin flea treatment.
