ELEVATED FEEDING

Every time our older dog bends down to eat, the arthritis in his neck and shoulders seems to bother him. What can we do to help?

Arthritis in the shoulder and neck is a common problem in older dogs, especially large breeds. Bending down to reach the food in a bowl, then lifting the head and neck up to swallow, is probably putting a strain on your pet. Try feeding the pet from an elevated feeder. By raising the food and water bowls off the ground, this feeder will eliminate bending and lifting to reduce the strain on aching shoulder and neck muscles.
