Large breeds
need a deep, wide bowl that’s heavy enough not to be
tipped or nudged around easily. Taller animals may also
benefit from an elevated feeder.
Small breeds
do best with a shallow bowl, so it’s easier for them to
reach food at the bottom.
Long-eared
breeds should have a narrow bowl that allows them to put
their snout inside without their ears falling in.
Older dogs or animals
with back or shoulder problems
benefit from an elevated feeder that raises the bowls to
shoulder height. This prevents painful stooping and
avoids gastrointestinal problems caused by incorrect
posture.
