There is nothing wrong, or even that unusual, about your
cat. Studies have shown that about three out of ten
adult cats have no reaction to catnip. The intensity of
the reaction to catnip on the part of the other 70
percent of feline pets varies by individual. Kittens
less than six weeks old do not react to catnip.
If
your cat seems indifferent to catnip, you can try
offering other toys to stimulate her interest in
playing. Good alternatives are interactive and feathered
toys as well as cat safe
The
effects of catnip typically last less than 15 minutes. A
cat that has just been exposed to catnip will not react
to it again until at least an hour has passed.
