Cages

Despite their diminutive size, small animals should not be put in tiny cages or tanks. Most small animals are very active and need room to move about and exercise.

A small animal’s cage should be placed in a draft-free, dry location with good air circulation. Do not place a small animal’s cage in direct sunlight, since this will cause the pet to over-heat. Small animal cages should also be kept out of areas that are exposed to drafts.
