Flea Combs
Using a narrow-toothed flea comb will remove fleas from a dog’s coat. Comb from the skin out over a small section of the coat at a time. To keep fleas from jumping off the comb, dip it in petroleum jelly before using. Flick fleas off the comb into a bowl of warm sudsy water. A flea comb can provide immediate relief from an infestation problem. Combing a dog with a flea comb is also an effective way to determine if fleas are present. However, a flea comb should be used as only part of a flea control program, since it will not eliminate an infestation problem by itself.
