Cage
The minimum size of cockatiel’s cage should be 3 feet long, by 1.5 feet wide by 21 inches high.  It’s a good idea to allow cockatiels out of a cage this size for free flying time in the home.

Diet
Millet and canary seed are the two seed staples of the cockatiel’s diet.  The two can be given to the bird in roughly equal quantities along with striped sunflower, rape seed, niger seed, maw and hemp.  Unsalted and crushed nuts can also be fed to the bird, as can fruits and vegetables.
