Locating the New Cage in the Home

Birds are very sensitive to drafts, so never locate a cage near a window, outside door or poorly insulated outside wall.

Cages should also be kept away from kitchens, since cooking fumes can harm a bird's respiratory system.

Do not locate a cage near a TV set or home entertainment center, because vibrations and loud noises can be upsetting to birds.

It’s a good idea to locate a bird’s cage in a place where it is not readily accessible to other family pets or unsupervised small children.
